4K Koll Brand

Esther Koll told Lola the 4K brand was for the four Koll brothers.  Effie Whittington’s research says that Henry Fredrick Kohl helped four of his sons purchase their own land.  John, Henry, Peter, and Fred each purchased 300 acres.  She didn’t know what Bill and Edward purchased.  Henry gave his daughters cash in the same amount he gave his sons.  The Kolls came to Louisiana February 18, 1900.

This photo shows the letters backwards, but when branded on the cattle, it would appear as 4K.
